Tree trimming and pruning are definitely not as easy as they seem to be. In order to do them right, you need to know when the most suitable time is to do these procedures. To help you learn this, our tree trimming service specialists have prepared the following tips:
- Springtime pruning. You can do this when you want to redirect the growth by trimming the branches that you do not need. If you reduce the total leaf surface, you will slow down the growth of the tree you have trimmed, simply because with less leaves, there will be less food manufactured and dispatched to the roots of the tree.
- Pruning to help the production of flowers. Trees which bloom in springtime should be pruned right after they lose their blossoms. The ones that flower during the summer, on the other hand, have to be trimmed in the early fall or late spring.
- During the fall, cuts from pruning seem to heal slower, so it is only a suitable period to trim some trees, but not most of the trees in the tiny orchard you have in your yard! Never prune a tree during the coldest winter months when the temperatures are freezing! This may harm the trees in your yard once and for all.
